ATL Bound

Okay, so it is no secret that I'm a bit of a workaholic (and busy to the point of exhaustion). If I don't have my handy to do list right in front of me at all times, trust and believe, I would not remember what to do next.

At the close of each day, I remember just how many people I still need to call, set up meetings with or see—tomorrow. Kameron (add him as a friend, he is new to myspace) my summer intern has been a God send. I could not have asked for a better assistant if I had manufactured him from scratch. He graduates in December from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, so if you have any job openings please consider this phenomenal young talent. Now, the only thing that worries me is how in the world am I going to replace him when school starts back up in the fall. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I'm going out of town to Atlanta with one of my clients (www.myspace.com/theselfshow) next week. We are filming a documentary about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the African-American community. It's killing us silently and at a rapid rate. We have to do our part to raise awareness. Anyway, I will be setting up interviews and such for the host/executive producer Mo Stegall. If you know of any good people I should link up with while I am there, let me know (email me at jameka@jswmediagroup.com or just message me here). I'll be in ATL from June 28-July 1 so feel free to hit me up.

That's it for now…Peace & Blessings.

Sometimes You Can't Use The Force

No matter how hard you try…you cannot make someone love you. You cannot order someone to make you a priority in his/her world. And that is just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Something must be in the air lately because for whatever reason, my various suitors are coming out of the woodwork and letting their noble (and some not so noble) intentions known. All except one notable exception of course, he on the contrary, made it oh so evident where I fall on his list of priorities…right under work and no where near “significant other” status.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I’ve had this conversation before, but guess what, it’s my blog and I can vent, scream, lament and even laugh if I want to—Although my thoughts are out there for public consumption, that doesn’t actually mean I want or/need your advice and/or veiled condescension masquerading as genuine concern (clearly that last statement doesn’t apply to all my readers, just wanted the ones who like to criticize my choices, seemingly out of love, I want you to know that I’m hip to your game, lol).

Just some random thoughts for your consumption …

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Man, I really miss writing in my blog…it’s been way too long, but I’ve had so much work to do recently that it has been impossible to keep up—something had to give, lol.

Life has been insane lately…insane but great. Lots of moving and shaking going on, and I am so excited about it. In the last month alone, I have acquired a number of new clients for JSW Media Group. It is so interesting working on my own business (as opposed to working for the man, lol). Aside from the tremendous amount of work associated with the magazine, I am about to kick into high gear with my modeling and acting endeavors. My goal is to get a magazine feature by January 2008 and some kind of TV hosting gig by December of this year. If Tangi (one of the best publicist in the whole wide world) has anything to say about it, I will definitely get my wish. Man, Tangi has been phenomenal---she keeps me on track, one of the few people who has the authority to tell me what to do—and I’ll actually do it.

Unfortunately, I am in search of a new personal manager. The last situation I was involved in just was not working out so if anyone knows of someone good, please let me know. I’m in the process of interviewing a few people, but I am still annoyed that my last manager didn’t work out---but things change and you just have to know how to roll with the punches.

Anyway, enough about that…I am blessed and that is all that really matters. Hope you all tuned in to my show last night (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/morethansex)…the topic was “The Lost Art of Seduction.” Believe me, it’s not as “sexy” as it sounds. But we did discuss what true courtship means, and how it all starts in the mind before the physical ever even comes into to play. And Ms. Onika Pascal blessed us with one heck of a sensual poem...you have to download the show to hear what I am talking about. But you know how we get down on the show, one crazy email or phone call and who knows what direction tonight’s show will go in…Nevertheless, it’s all good.

More updates to come…I won’t leave you hanging for too much longer…

Peace & Blessings
