So, yeah, I’m busy. I have a LOT going on, and you know what? I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’m happier than I have been in a long time. Why? A few key reasons come to mind:
(1) I not only started listening to God more, but I’m actually following directions.
(2) I’ve “Let it Go.” Those past relationships that were not healthy. Those people who were only meant to be in my life for a season. The things that I ABSOLUTELY cannot change. I’ve let all of those hang ups and distractions go. I had a true renewal of spirit on January 1. God works fast. Ask and ye shall receive, and oh boy, did I get what I asked for.
(3) I am finally taking the time to enjoy who I am, and where I am in life. I’m single, never been married without children or significant emotional baggage (says me). I’m now seeing that as a positive instead of a hindrance. And perhaps it’s because I am finally building a trusting friendship with a man that I can see has strong (read very strong and likely) potential to blossom into more. Who knows? Who cares? All I know is that I am smiling—even in the face of family drama, deaths, personal issues and more. God is so good. I can’t say that enough.
(4) Professionally, my life is so on point right now. I love what I do. I love who I work with. I love the people that are helped by my team’s talents. If that’s not enough to make the sleepless nights, long hours and weekend work worth it, I don’t what is.
The moral of the story? Love. Laugh…as often as possible and as much as you can.
