Join me on my life's journey as I explore my thoughts about my Faith, being an entrepreneur, my culture and any other thoughts as they materialize...AND what it means to be "seen."

Queen City Get Ready
Granted September is always a busy month for art, music fashion and style, but seriously, this is the most action I've seen in the city in a good long while. It's a beautiful thing to see my hometown on the come up...
Last week, there were Fashion Night Out events all over (major shout to Effie from Lotus for putting on an entertaining fashion show at Butter...loved it); NDemand Magazine did a wonderful job with a fashion-forward production (and they made sure I had front row...muy importante, wink) last week, I'm hope to see more from them. Charlotte STYLE Magazine made the trip to NYC for fashion week...and more.
And of course, I am super excited about what's to come...Charlotte NC Fashion Week starts on 9/23 with the finale on 9/25...which also happens to be a big day for JSW Media Group. Our client, Katrise Jones is hosting the Grand Opening of Salon Se Swa with new co-owner Lil' Kim. We are helping to plan a series of glam events for the "Se Swa" weekend, starting with a ribbon-cutting with Mayor ProTem Patrick Cannon and Council Member Michael Barnes. Read the full press release here. If you are local press and want a spot on the red carpet during the grand opening, hit me up before Wednesday.
For full list of happenings, visit http://www.salonseswa.com/.

Junk Food---I don't think so!
So, as most of you know, I've been in the ongoing process of "De-cluttering" my life. I started with beginning a new work out regime (yeah, we won't discuss the progress of that, but it was started), I cleaned out my house completely--gave away massive numbers of clothes, shoes, had a shredding party in my home office(thanks to a seminar by Geopology Designs)--all sorts of healthy behavior. However, what I had not done is De-Clutter my life in terms of getting rid of all the unhealthy people in my life. Well, that's changed wholeheartedly...
I began this great (and intense) process of cleaning out those individuals who were not adding anything to my life. I keep it pleasant with those individuals, but nothing deep. I had to learn to trust my mind, heart and soul with those who deserve it...those who have proven that they understand what real friendship means. This De-Cluttering of the soul has also extended to my prospective romantic relationships.

| Debut Book by Healthy Relationship Activist Jennifer Tardy |
Friend and client Jennifer Tardy, who is a Healthy Relationship Activist, wrote His Ingredient Label: A Woman's Guide to Recognizing a Junk Food Man. This has been a fun read to say the least. This book helps women to recognize how to eliminate that which isn't good for us. It's like how it is with anything, you have to get rid of the "junk" to make room for the good stuff. The book is witty and fun--it's truly like sitting down and talking with a good girlfriend.
So check out the book, and sign up for Jennifer's newsletter here you can also follow her on Twitter @JTardy26.
So I'm ready for the next level of development...are you? Do you have the strength to say no to "junk" and "clutter"?

All About the Men
Truly, there is nothing I enjoy more than being surrounded by professional men of all ethnicities who appreciate fashion, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit (not too mention good ole common sense thrown in for flavor), have impeccable taste, are socially aware and have a keen sense of personal style. These are the guys I love to flirt with at parties. So, in an effort to let these fellas know just how special they are, Charlotte STYLE teamed up with JSW & Crave Dessert Bar for The STYLE Suite: Men's Appreciation Event. During the evening, men in the Charlotte area will have the opportunity to be pampered...Why? Because we can...and we like you (at least I know I do).
The event is hosted by the beautiful and talented Kelly Hood, and will feature a fashion showcase, desserts, giveaways, complimentary massages and MANicures.
Fellas, let us take care of you. Come on out Thursday, June 24th from 6pm-10pm. Guys, come have a nice relaxing evening and let us cater to you. Ladies- I wouldn't miss it. This event is free...and it is truly ALL about the men! I'm excited to get my flirt on...are you with me?

Relaxed and Rejuvenated
How did I, with all my diva glam and innate fabulousness, spend the Memorial Day weekend--mostly in a tank top and sweats, but boy did I enjoy it. I took the time to hang out at my own house, something I rarely get to do most days, especially with the constant flow of meetings, events, work, etc. It was great doing nothing--well, that's not exactly true. I took the weekend to completely reorganize by home office. I decided that in order to make room for the new things to come into your life, you HAVE to dispose of the old stuff, it is a must.
However, I wouldn't be me if I didn't spend at least part of the time working an event. I attended the first night of Summer Jazz at Tutto Mondo (that's here in Charlotte for my out of state followers). Music was by The Queen's Collective, and I must say it was a good time. I enjoyed myself quite a bit.
I hope I can count on some of you to join me one of these weekends...Don't miss out:-)

I was there representing Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc and making sure everyone was AMPED! Good news is that we found out the event is going to be weekly for June. What more can you ask for? Live Music, Good Food, Great People, Cool Venue...and FREE. Fellas, good place to bring a date! Check out the flyer below for details:
